About Me

Greetings! I am a licensed professional counselor (LPC) with diverse experience across multiple states. My journey began in Colorado in 2002, and I’ve since expanded my practice to Washington, DC, and Virginia.

Education:

My academic background is rich and varied, reflecting my passion for integrating psychology, movement, and expressive arts. I hold a Ph.D. in Expressive Arts Therapy from Lesley University, EMDR Certification from the Rocky Mountain EMDR Training Institute, and Gestalt Therapy Certification from the Gestalt Institute of the Rockies. My MA in Somatic Psychology with an emphasis in Dance/Movement Therapy is from Naropa University, and my BA in Psychology and Dance is from George Washington University.

Private Practice:

I currently operate a private practice in Woodley Park, Washington, DC, where I bring together my extensive training and experience to offer holistic psychotherapy.

Workshops and Specializations:

In addition to my clinical work, I facilitate workshops that blend movement, film, and storytelling in art-based research. Some of my specialized workshops include exploring embodied interactions through movement, delving into the intricacies of body awareness, and examining couples’ relationships through dance.

Academic Contributions:

I have had the privilege of contributing to academia, serving as Adjunct Faculty at George Washington University, teaching subjects ranging from Movement Awareness to Aesthetics in Choreography. My involvement extends to being an Assistant Professor for Somatic Psychology at Naropa University, where I cover topics like Family Systems, Somatic Psychology, and Developmental Psychology.

Dance and Therapy Positions:

Throughout my career, I’ve worked as a Dance/Movement Therapist, including with Cleo Parker Robinson’s Project Self Discovery for Youth at Risk, and facilitated group therapy for BFA students at Naropa University.

My approach to therapy is rooted in a deep understanding of the mind-body connection, and I am dedicated to creating a safe space for individuals to explore and heal.
